Chamonix Skiing

Join Joe this winter to ski in the birthplace of alpinism. Despite the rugged nature of these mountains, the area has ski options for all abilities. We can venture out each day from Chamonix to legendary ski tours like the Vallée Blanche from the Aiguille du Midi lift, off piste in the Aiguille Rouges, or around Argentière. The countless mountain huts open our options for multi day tours such as the Haute Route, world’s most famous ski tour.

Joe has spent at least two months each year in Chamonix for the past 15 years. He knows the place well. Contact Joe and let’s make a plan!

Skill Level

Intermediate to advanced alpine skiing skills.
Fitness for a full day in the mountains.
Recent avalanche rescue practice. Rec Level 1 avalanche training is recommended.

France and Italy Rate

1 client: $700 USD per day
2 clients: $400 USD per person per day (moderate-technical)
3 clients: $300 USD per person per day (non-technical)

Switzerland Rate

The higher rate is because Switzerland is expensive and Joe must pay extra for lodging and lifts when away from Chamonix.
1 client: $800 USD per day
2 clients: $450 USD per person per day (moderate-technical)
3 clients: $350 USD per person per day (non-technical)

Does Not Include

Personal gear. See Backcountry Ski Gear List.
Client hut fees: about €50 per night per person, except about €100 on the Gouter and CHF150 at the Hornli Hut.
Client transport: about €25-60 per day, except CHF100 in Switzerland. A rental car is not necessary, but is a nice addition to keep our options open beyond the Chamonix valley.
Guide transport including buses, trains and cars. The guides will cover their own lifts.
Client food. Breakfast and dinner are included with hut fees.
Rescue insurance, required.
Trip cancellation insurance, recommended.
