Trip Insurance
Trip cancellation insurance is highly recommended for all trips. Travel Guard's Adventure Travel Protection Plan is highly recommended. Get the Optional Cancel for Any Reason provision when you get a quote. Evacuation coverage is included, although not as good as Global Rescue through the American Alpine Club (see below).
Rescue Insurance
Accidents can happen in the mountains. Rescue is not free and is often very expensive. Rescue insurance is required for all South America and Europe trips and is a very good idea if you do mountains stuff. Here are several options:
- Global Rescue is an amazing deal. Available with your membership to the American Alpine Club (www.americanalpineclub.org). Membership for 29 or younger costs $40 per year, $75 for age 30-64 and $50 for over 65. Each member gets $5,000 toward rescue and evacuation coverage. AAC members can upgrade to full Global Rescue membership at a 5% discount.
- Travel Guard Adventure Travel Protection Plan includes emergency rescue insurance.
- Outdoor Recreation Insurance (www.getori.com). They have a very good rescue insurance program.
- REGA Swiss mountain rescue insurance at any Swiss post office.
Booking Conditions--please read
The goal of Stock Alpine LLC is to: 1) minimize hazards, 2) achieve the objective, and 3) to have fun. We will do our best meet these goals. Situations do occur that are out of the guides control. These include, but are not limited to: weather, route conditions and travel complications. While bush flights in Alaska add huge rewards, they also put a portion of the trip out of the guides control. Alaska is remote and the infrastructure rough. Mountaineering and skiing in Alaska requires a higher degree of flexibility than elsewhere.
Certified Guides Cooperative
For some trips Stock Alpine LLC operates independently using Certified Guides Cooperative insurance and/or permits. If needed, below are the forms.
